The cauliflower steak recipe I am about to share is a delicious one that you can make at home with a few quick steps. A recipe can be served as a main dish or as a side dish so you can make this and serve it with other dishes Yellow Rice, and Arroz Con Pollo.
A plant-based dish is so tasty that it has been dubbed a steak dish. If you want to make a dish that is quick to make and delicious to eat then you are in the right place as I will be sharing how to cook cauliflower steaks.
Let’s find out how to make cauliflower steaks but before that, we need to see how to cut the cauliflower.
How to Cut Cauliflower Steaks:
- Start by cutting off the outer green leaves.
- Trim the bottom stem but don’t cut the core stem.
- Cut through the middle of the cauliflower head making sure the cauliflower doesn’t fall apart.
- Make thick cuts, more than an inch so that the piece doesn’t break apart when cooking.
- Use a large chef’s knife when trimming and cutting because it becomes easier.
How to make cauliflower steak
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 30 minutes
2 heads of cauliflower
1 teaspoon of kosher salt
½ teaspoon of black pepper
½ teaspoon of garlic powder
½ teaspoon of paprika
¼ cup of olive oil
1 teaspoon of chopped parsley
Start by preheating the oven to 500 degrees and adjusting the third rack in the oven.
Cut the cauliflower by following the steps above. You should have at least 4 pieces after cutting.
Next, take a rimmed baking sheet and place the cauliflower steaks on it.
Mix salt pepper, garlic powder, and paprika in a small bowl.
Spray or drizzle olive oil on each side of the cauliflower steak.
Season the steak with the mixture on both sides evenly.
With aluminum foil cover the baking sheet.
Bake the cauliflower for 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes of baking remove the aluminum foil.
And bake again for an additional ten minutes. You are in a sense roasting the steak.
After 10 minutes flip to get the same coloring on the other side as well.
You are now ready to serve your cauliflower dish. Garnish the cauliflower dish with parsley on top.

How to store the cauliflower?
If you have leftovers, as I always do, you can store the cauliflower after it is completely cooled down and achieved room temperature. You can transfer the steak to an airtight container and put it in the refrigerator. You can keep it in the refrigerator for 4 to 5 days but I recommend you don’t keep more than 5 days.
How to cook cauliflower in an air fryer?
You can make the cauliflower steak in an air fryer by following the same steps. Preheat the air fryer to 190 degrees and cook each side for about 8 mins until you see golden brown color.
